Jazz Concert in the Ecole Salish Theatre at 6:30pm Tickets NOW Available Salish Music invites you to join us in a celebration of the Salish Jazz Bands on Thursday, February 13th as they prepare to participate in the Surrey Jazz Festival. Both the Senior and Intermediate Jazz Ensembles along with three Salish Jazz Combos will perform the material they have prepared for the festival the next week. This is a great chance for friends and family to support the hard work these students have done to prepare for this event. Surrey Schools Jazz Festival at the Bell Performing Arts Centre Field trip Fee now payable via schoolcashonline
On February 21st and 22nd our Jazz Bands and Combos will participate in the Provincial Surrey Jazz Festival. All students are responsible to get to the festival at the specified time but there will be some support from the community if a student cannot get a ride. Friday is a ProD day so students will miss no classes. This is a Provincial Festival and students are coming from all around the province so our students are encouraged to come early or stay later to see some of the other fantastic bands both from Surrey and the rest of the province. There is a possibility that any one of our groups could be chosen (as our Senior Band was last year), to be considered for performing in the Saturday evening Showcase Performance of outstanding bands. Please leave Saturday evening, Feb 22nd open if it is possible so we may perform if we are chosen for this honour again. There is a student fee to help cover the almost $2000 cost of entering our bands in the festival. Please pay for field trip fee via schoolcashonline https://www.schoolcashonline.com/

On Tuesday March 4th the Salish Music Department and Jazz Bands invite you to join in a super fun and new event at our school. We will be hosting a Swing Dance party that will be open to the entire community, including a significant and growing Swing Dance community in the Lower Mainland. The evening will include a 30 minute Swing Dance lesson for all attendees. After this the Salish Jazz Bands, along with a DJ, will deliver an evening of classic Swing and dance music. All proceeds from this event will go towards the April Band trip to California.

Concert Band Night in the Ecole Salish Gym at 6:30pm All our concert bands will be performing at this concert. Featuring the grade 8, intermediate and senior concert bands. All performers to arrive at 5pm for warm-up. Reminder to students to wear perfomance wear - all black. Doors to gym open at 6pm. Event by cash donation at the door. All proceeds go to the general band program. |
